  • Mikungani Primary School has 879 students.
  • 100% of the students suffer from Malaria, Typhoid, kidney problems, and/or worms.
  • The school only about a 50% attendance rate in every grade, as most of the kids are too sick to attend.
  • There is a small farm at the school, but it does not provide any food for the students.
  • A few years ago, the students dug a well, but it failed.
  • The well hole is an astounding 100 feet deep. This is a huge risk for the children, as they have to use a bucket on a rope to lower down into the well to get what little water is there.
  • Unfortunately the well is almost completely dry.
  • Similar to Manyatta, their nearest water water source is the Malalla River, It is roughly a 6 km round trip from the school.
