Rotary International

Save the Rain has partnered with Rotary International on projects in Patandi, Tanzania. Rotary provided us with the material funding for a 240,000 liter rainwater harvesting system for this village of 6000 people. We currently have additional projects partnerships in development with Rotary to help bring clean water to more of Tanzania’s children.

Engineers Without Borders USA

Save the Rain had the honor of presenting our work at the Engineers without Borders international conference. We have since helped to train various Engineers Without Borders chapters on Rainwater Harvesting. We worked with the Portland Chapter and supplied them with the trained work force for their project at the Orkeeswa Secondary School in Monduli, Tanzania.

Millennium Promise      

Save the Rain partnered with the Millennium Promise on creating several rainwater harvesting systems in Ruhiira, Uganda. The Millennium Promise provided the funding for the project’s materials. Save the Rain took care of labor costs and all other additional expenses.

United Nations Development Program (UNDP)

On that same project, in Ruhiira, Uganda, Save the Rain trained the UNDP on the construction of rainwater harvesting systems, cost effective tank construction and slow sand filtration. The project centered around roof water harvesting and protected springs.

 University of Washington

Save the Rain has been working with the University of Washington on an epidemiology study to prove that rainwater harvesting is a viable solution to heal the epidemics caused by the global water crisis.

Key Club

Save the Rain has worked with Kiwanis’ Key Club to make a yearly global service project for high schools in the U.S. The program creates advocacy about the global water crisis and gives domestic students an opportunity to harvest funds so that children in Africa can harvest the rain.
